What you pay for: VoIP vs Non-VoIP AT&T
Every paid code comes from a private number, so the price depends on the type of line behind it and the service. VoIP High Quality numbers are the cheapest, from $0.50 per code, and work for the large majority of signups: social apps, marketplaces, and most services that only need a valid mobile number. They are the cheapest way to verify an account and the right default when you are not sure which pool to pick.
Non-VoIP AT&T numbers cost a little more because they are real AT&T carrier lines, not VoIP. Some services run strict checks that reject VoIP numbers outright, including banks, some fintech apps, and services that repeatedly flag VoIP traffic. Choose Non-VoIP AT&T whenever a VoIP number gets rejected or when the service is known to require a real carrier line from the start. The exact price for each service and number type is shown right next to the service when you search.
Either way, there is no subscription and nothing to cancel. You top up a wallet once and pay only for codes that actually arrive: if a code never lands, the charge is refunded automatically. The same pay-per-code pricing applies whether a person is requesting the number from the dashboard or an AI agent is requesting it through the REST API or MCP server.
