How SHEIN uses your phone number
Like many large shopping apps, SHEIN lets you create an account with an email address or a phone number. If you choose the phone route, the number becomes your login: SHEIN sends a short numeric code by SMS and you type it into the app or website to continue. Depending on your region and app version, you may also be asked for a number later, for example to confirm a sign-in from a new device.
The number can do more than log you in. Shopping apps commonly use the numbers they hold for order updates and, if you agree to marketing, for promotional texts. Check the consent boxes on the sign-up screen.
A separate number keeps that traffic off your personal phone. Bear in mind that the courier may need to reach you about a parcel, and the phone field on a shipping address is often separate from the login number, so decide which number goes where.
What a SHEIN verification code SMS looks like
The message is short: usually the brand name, a numeric code, and a line telling you not to share it. It may come from a short code or a named sender rather than an ordinary phone number, depending on the country of the number you use.
Codes like this expire after a few minutes. If you request a second code, the first one usually stops working, so always type the newest code in the inbox.
On ASMS.ai the message appears on the number's page as soon as it is delivered. Keep the inbox tab open while you wait, and avoid going back and forth on the SHEIN screen, which can reset the request.
SHEIN not sending verification code: common causes
If SHEIN is not sending a verification code, look at the number first. Free shared numbers are used by many people, so SHEIN may already have an account on that number, or its checks may decline a number with heavy use. A fresh private number avoids both problems.
Next, check the country. SHEIN runs regional sites, and the country code on the phone field must match the number. A US number goes with +1 and a UK number with +44. If the dropdown shows the wrong country, the SMS goes nowhere.
Finally, rate limits. Tapping resend several times in a row can block further requests for a while. Wait a few minutes, then try once more, and switch to a different number if nothing comes. On a paid per-code order, a code that never arrives is refunded automatically, so the failed attempt costs you nothing.
Which number to use for SHEIN
Start with VoIP High Quality, the cheapest US pool on the OTP page, from $0.50. Many shopping apps accept it, and if SHEIN declines it you get your money back. If you shop on SHEIN's UK site, the United Kingdom pool gives you a real +44 mobile number.
If both are refused, or you want a number you can keep, rent a private non-VoIP number on the Numbers page. A rental comes with unlimited SMS for the whole period, so it handles later login codes as well as the first one.
The free shared numbers are fine for a quick, throwaway look at the app. Do not use one for an account that holds your address, your order history or a saved card.
Keep the account safe once it holds personal data
A SHEIN account can store your home address, past orders, points, gift card balance and saved payment methods. If you log in with a phone code, whoever can read that number can log in as you. That is fine on a private number only you can see. On a public free number, anyone browsing the page can read the next code.
For an account like that, use a number you keep: a rental. Note the rental's end date and renew it, or move the account to another number you control before it ends, so you are not locked out the next time SHEIN asks you to verify.
Add a strong password and an email address you actually check, so you have more than one way back in.
Getting a SHEIN OTP step by step
Sign in to ASMS.ai and top up your wallet. Open the OTP page, choose SHEIN as the service and the US pool, and check the price and stock shown before you pay.
Copy the number, paste it into SHEIN's phone field with the matching country code, and tap send. The code appears in your ASMS.ai inbox. Type it into SHEIN and carry on shopping.
